George Etling has been appointed senior pastor at Fifth Street Church (Staunton, Va.) effective May 1, 2012. Harry Moore, who supplied the pulpit for 16 years, retired on April 29. George and his wife, Cheri, had been part of the Jerusalem Chapel UB church in in Churchville, Va., where George received his local ministerial license.

Josh Good (right) has been appointed senior pastor at Homefront Church (Grandville, Mich.), effective May 1, 2012. He had been serving as Pastor of Discipleship and Youth at Banner of Christ UB (Byron Center, Mich.) since 2003. Before that, he served two years (1999-2001) as youth pastor at Heart O the Lakes UB (Brooklyn, Mich.).

Howard Beaver, senior pastor of Mt. Olivet Church (Chambersburg, Pa.) since July 2006, announced that he will retire on June 30, 2012. Prior to serving with the United Brethren church, Howard served with the Pennsylvania-Delaware Council of the Assemblies of God, in which he was ordained in the 1980s. The Mt. David Holt has been appointed senior pastor of East Ovid UB church (Coldwater, Mich.) effective February 1, 2012. He and Kim (right), his wife of 28 years, have 3 children, ages 16-23. His ministry background includes the Algansee Lower Light Mission of Petersburg, Mich. (which first licensed him to preach), the Zion Wesleyan Mission in Hazel Park, Mich., the Old Time Religion Group in Michigan (which ordained him in 2006). He has been pastor since 2005 of the Ball Road Tabernacle Church of Romulus, Mich.

  • Keith Elliott has been assigned as senior pastor of Criders UB church (Chambersburg, Pa.) effective December 1, 2011.
  • Jeff Reser (right) has been hired as associate pastor of East Washington UB (Ashley, Mich.) effective December 1, 2011. He was previously associate pastor of Fowlerville UB (Fowlerville, Mich.).

Josh Whipple (right, with family) has been named senior pastor of Mount Hope UB church in Carson City, Mich., effective November 14, 2011. He previously served as youth/worship pastor at Mongul UB (Shippensburg, Pa.) 2008-2011. Josh and Katie have two young children.

  • Douglas Sandman has been named senior pastor of Pleasant Hill UB (Greencastle, Pa.) effective September 11, 2011. He was granted a local church ministerial license on August 29. He graduated in 2005 from Lancaster Bible College with a degree in Pastoral Ministry, and from its graduate school in 2011 with a master’s in Pastoral Studies. For 20 years, he worked as a cabinet maker and woodworker. Douglas previously pastored Faith Calvary Church (Lancaster, Pa.) 2007-2009. He and his wife, Cynthia, have two sons, ages 28 and 19.
  • Rick Pride has resigned as senior pastor of Eagle Quest UB (Columbia City, Ind.) effective September 4, 2011. He had pastored Eagle Quest since June 2002.

Jonathan Herron has resigned as senior pastor of Colwood UB church (Caro, Mich.). A letter was read to the congregation on August 28. Rev. Herron had been pastor of Colwood since September 2009.

Jason Garwood (right), associate pastor at Colwood, has been appointed interim lead pastor for an undetermined time.

Andy Stahl has been named senior pastor of New Life Community Church in Chanute, Kansas, effective September 1, 2011. Michael Longfellow resigned from that position earlier this summer to take a church in another denomination.

Andy is a 2007 graduate of Huntington University, with a degree in Bible and Religion. His wife, Jennifer, graduated from HU in 2006 with a degree in Recreation Management.

  • Eldon Grubb has been appointed senior pastor of Pleasant Valley UB church (Lake Odessa, Mich.) effective July 17, 2011. Bishop Phil Whipple attended the service that day to present a local conference license to Pastor Grubb.
  • Paul Baty has been appointed supply pastor at Pleasant Hill UB church (Muncie, Ind.).
  • Larry Mepham has been appointed interim pastor at Maranatha UB (Perington, Mich.), effective immediately.
