Marvin Schwartz has been assigned as the new senior pastor of New Horizons UB (Rockford, Ohio) effective May 25. Wes Kuntzman will continue to fill the pulpit until May 18. Marvin is currently working towards his Masters degree at Huntington University. He was ordained in 2005 in the Church of the Brethren.

Ted Doolittle was named senior pastor of Calvary Community UB church in Bridgeport, Mich., effective February 24. He previously pastored the Oak Harbor and Findlay First UB churches in Ohio. Most recently, he has been associate pastor of Zion UB in Wayne, Ohio.

Gary DilleyGary Dilley, the Director of Global Ministries since 2001, is stepping down to take on a new position. In January, he will become senior pastor of College Park United Brethren Church in Huntington, Ind. He has been serving as interim pastor at College Park since July.

Gary’s original calling was to pastoral ministry, and that role remains close to his heart. While he felt God’s leading in leaving the pastorate to become Global Ministries director, he always knew he would eventually return to the pastorate.

Gary was elected to the Global Ministries position in 2001. However, in 2005, it became an appointed position. Bishop Ron Ramsey will work with the Global Ministries Leadership Team in deciding how to fill the position.

Brent BirdsallBrent Birdsall (right), pastor of College Park UB church in Huntington, Ind., since 1993, has resigned to accept a position on staff with a church in Minnesota. Starting August 13, he will be Adult Ministries Pastor at Berean Baptist Church in Burnsville, Minn., overseeing all ministries from post-college through senior adults.

Brent and Sandie Birdsall and family served two stints as missionaries in Sierra Leone, and pastored the Emmanuel UB church in Fort Wayne, Ind., in between. Their second term in Sierra Leone was cut short by the civil war; they were part of the emergency evacuation of all UB missionaries on a military transport.

Gary DilleyBrent served as a member, and then chairman, of the Global Ministries Leadership Team, and also served on the Executive Leadership Team.

Gary Dilley (left), director of Global Ministries, was named Interim Pastor of College Park Church, effective July 1. On top of his duties with Global Ministries, he will give about 20 hours a week to leadership at College Park and will preach about half of the Sundays. He was asked to serve during this transition time.
