Gaines UB church (Caledonia, Mich.) is looking for a fulltime (42 hours) Worship Arts Director.
The Worship Arts Director of Gaines Church is the leading force of musical worship in BOTH our Traditional (8:30 AM) and Contemporary (11 AM) Sunday services, taking the mission and purposes of Gaines Church and applying them to music and art, leading all musician/vocalist volunteers. This position requires you to play piano/keyboard (and preferably acoustic guitar too) and be capable at leading Worship in both Traditional and Contemporary service environments.
Gaines Church is a country church with a professional vibe. We’ve been called a Chihuahua…small but with a serious bite. In all seriousness, we have some traditional aspects and some more modern aspects. Our people tend to be those who have a church background but been burned out or hurt by the church in the past. To this extent, you’ll likely find people who understand tradition but want something fresh and new.
We know music can be a dividing factor in churches and while we have two Sunday services with different styles, our leadership stands firm on remaining unified amidst our diversity, addressing conflict or dissension about music swiftly.
Our Traditional Service is a piano/organ-led traditional worship style environment (1-5 singers with one designated worship leader…no choir). We have multiple volunteer worship leaders you’ll coordinate. Our Contemporary Service is a full band modern worship style environment (worship leader + a backup singer or two…no choir).
As staff, we love to have fun. Staff meetings are sometimes laugh-fests over the craziness of life. Our next Worship Arts Director will be welcomed into a team which supports each other and believes in ministries being connected, not silo’d into separate towers. You’ll be empowered to manage your ministry and will report to our Senior Pastor.
If interested, please download this very thorough job description.
To apply for the position, send a resume and cover letter to Josh Greenfield at: email@example.com. It would be a plus to provide links to recordings of acoustic guitar, piano, and vocal performances.

We envision a community, challenged and changed by the love of Christ. Our mission is to love God, love people, and our purpose is to glorify Christ Jesus in all we do. We encourage people to “come as you are,” and our worship service style is contemporary. We seek a Pastor who can lead us in this mission of love.

He should be a pastor who will preach and teach biblical and relevant messages that will encourage, inspire, and motivate the church to action. This pastor should also be someone who can lead and collaborate with our board of elders and staff members to provide purpose and oversight as we pursue Kingdom building ministry together.
We’re a church of 40+ years with a strong history of focusing on youth and families. We recently hired a Pastor of Family Ministries to lead us in a renewed emphasis toward Children’s ministry. We are using the 252 program from Orange and are gaining momentum with our kids and young families. We desire for this to carry into our adult worship services where young families will be inspired and compelled to join with us. We believe that God has planted this church in this community for a great purpose. And we are eager to experience a measure of re-birth, revitalization, and growth as we pursue God’s plan and vision for us in this community.
