Rev. Howard and Eva Nell (Rash) Anderson will celebrate 50th anniversary on August 25. Eva Nell is the daughter of former Bishop Robert Rash, and Howard served as the denominational Director of Church Ministries until 1981, when he returned to the UB pastorate.

Brent BirdsallBrent Birdsall (right), pastor of College Park UB church in Huntington, Ind., since 1993, has resigned to accept a position on staff with a church in Minnesota. Starting August 13, he will be Adult Ministries Pastor at Berean Baptist Church in Burnsville, Minn., overseeing all ministries from post-college through senior adults.

Brent and Sandie Birdsall and family served two stints as missionaries in Sierra Leone, and pastored the Emmanuel UB church in Fort Wayne, Ind., in between. Their second term in Sierra Leone was cut short by the civil war; they were part of the emergency evacuation of all UB missionaries on a military transport.

Gary DilleyBrent served as a member, and then chairman, of the Global Ministries Leadership Team, and also served on the Executive Leadership Team.

Gary Dilley (left), director of Global Ministries, was named Interim Pastor of College Park Church, effective July 1. On top of his duties with Global Ministries, he will give about 20 hours a week to leadership at College Park and will preach about half of the Sundays. He was asked to serve during this transition time.

Cal Hodgon (right), pastor of Heritage UB church in Dansville, Mich., also plays basketball for the Lansing Capitals, a minor-league pro basketball team. Last weekend they played the Grand Rapids Fight, which boasts the world’s tallest basketball player–Sun Ming Ming of China at 7 feet, 9 inches. The online Daily Press and Argus published an article about the game, which included comments from Hodgson about Sun Ming Ming.

Tim and Tara Hallman are the parents of a new baby boy, their fourth child. Eli Martin was born at 12:40 am on Monday, March 26, weighing 7 pounds, 11 ounces, and 21 inches long. Everyone is doing fine. Tim Hallman is pastor of Anchor Community Church in Fort Wayne, Ind., and the son of longtime UB minister Gerald Hallman.

Tim Flickinger, pastor of Fowlerville UB (Fowlerville, Mich., was one of two judges for the town’s annual chili cookoff, which this year raised about $1100 for the July 4 fireworks show. About 15 entries were judged.

Dick and Donelle Raab were honored on their last official Sunday as pastor of Richfield Road United Brethren Church on Sunday, January 28, 2007. After a carry-in dinner, a program in which people from four of the five churches they served spoke concerning memories of their associations with them. They have retired after 42 and a half years of pastoral ministry and will be living at 1914 Jack Pine Ct. in Dorr, Michigan.
