70 Years for Charlie and Ruth Snider

Charlie and Ruth Snider, from Toronto, Ontario,  celebrated their 70th anniversary on August 15, 2012. They knew each other as children, and were married in 1942 just two weeks before he went off to serve in the military.

Ruth Snider is an ordained minister and former pastor in Ontario Conference, as well as a former member of the denominational board of missions and former director of Food for the Hungry Canada. Charlie has worked on numerous building projects throughout the world. Charlie turned 90 in 2009, and Ruth in 2010.

    Congratulations. I have fond memories from my teen years of when Charlie would visit Sierra Leone and let me tag along while he fixed generators and water pumps. I learned a lot about machinery and kindness.

    Congratulations to Charlie and Ruth… I have many fond memories of both Charlie and Ruth from my youth as my Dad and Mom ministered just “down the road” at Garrison Road UB in Fort Erie.

    I’ll also never forget the time I was walking across the campus of HCJB Global in Ecuador and saw Charlie for the first time in probably 30 years… He was down helping our engineers with some diesel engines. Couldn’t miss that handlebar mustache…

    Dear Charlie and Ruth: Congratulations! 70 years is a milestone but more important is the 70 plus years you have modeled for the next gneration. I have manhy fond menories from Papallacta, Tenwek and Honduras working with you, Charlie, seeing how you shone with Christ in all situations. May God bless you both.
