My heart goes out to the Family of the late Rev. Dr. Herb Cherry. I have fond memories of both Mrs. Cherry who went home to be with the Lord last year. It is Coincindental that Rev. CHerry died on my birthday. I will never forget this. The late Dr. Herbert and Mrs. CHerry were like my parents when I attended Huntington University in 1996-2000. I would take turns travelling back and forth to their home in Michigan during Thanksgiving and Christmas time and to Findley, Ohio to the Swansons, and Jurkiewiczs family some weekends during my college years. What a tremendous loss but now they are both with the Savior what better place to be. May the family find strength in this time of sorrow.

Uncle Herb (Dr Cherry) and his wife Phyllis were constant source of blessing and inspiration to the JBC family and the Jamaica Conference. For over 12 years they volunteered to serve as visiting lecturers at JBC. Herb was always a very jovial and practical person. He sought to use aliterations to provide humour and joy to almost any situation. He was instrumental in soliciting generous assistance to help us in the construction of our Learning Resource Centre. Phyllis endeavoured to use her God given skills that made the ebonies and ivories of the piano come alive in soul satisfying melodies. This couple has left a legacy that many have emulated, in giving service to the training of Christian workers for the Kingdom of God. (II Tim 2:2)
On behalf of the JBC family, we say see you in the bye and bye.
