I really enjoy reading anything by Frances Rivers, fiction or bible studies. And I absolutely love Beth Moore's bible studies. Most recently I was challenged to read "The Shack" and heard so much about it I finally "caved". It was a good read and has brought about great discussions with my daughter especially. I love a good heart warming story, so many years ago I read every Janette Oke book there was and waited for each one to come out. I've outgrown that now, and am drawn more to church leadership books in recent years. Could be why I'm drawn to this job...and loving every minute of it!

I like fantasy writers. My favorite one is Steven Lawhead. I am drawn to rhe Celtic Christian strains in his books.
At the moment I probably spend more time writing short stories and poems. But i do enjoy a good read.

As a mother of four young children, let's just say I don't have much time for leisure reading. I have, however, managed to read most of the church growth and leadership books that my husband, John, has read over the past year or so.
For more leisurely reading, I have really enjoyed Donald Miller's book, Blue Like Jazz. He talks about his faith in such a conversational way that I found myself laughing out loud at times. His style is refreshing and light. The next book I'd like to read by Miller is called To Own A Dragon, in which he discusses growing up without a father. I listened to a podcast of him reading an excerpt and it is hilarious, despite the serious nature of the subject.
