It may be helpful for us to explore and get closer to the root of the problem. Most Moslems who we describe as radical Islamist are just being faithful to what they believe to be the correct reading of their holy book the Qur’an. Mustafa, a convert from Islam to Christianity and former lecturer of Islamic History at the Al Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, in his book “The Falling of Islam” (page 33), pointed out that, “The Qu”ran commands Muslims to fight and to kill the people of the book, Jews and Christians alike.”
He quoted Sura:9 Tauba Verse:29 Juz:10 Revealed : Madina, where the command was given to “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of truth, from among the people of the Book, until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.”
This is one of many similar commands from the Qur’an which contradicts the claim that Islam is a religion of peace.
